On 30-31 March, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Gabrielius Landsbergis attended a meeting of foreign ministers of the Bucharest Ninte (B9) platform in Łódź, Poland. The participants discussed preparations for the NATO meeting at the level of foreign ministers on 4 and 5 April, the security situation of the countries of NATO’s eastern flank and continued support for Ukraine.

In response to the information that Belarus is preparing to launch the second power unit of its nuclear power plant (NPP) - physically launching the reactor and planning to connect to the power grid — the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania sent a note of protest to the Foreign Ministry of Belarus, strictly insisting on the immediate suspension of the Belarusian NPP project until all nuclear safety issues identified by international missions and review processes are resolved.

On 29-30 March, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Gabrielius Landsbergis received the French Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs Catherine Colonna. The meetings focused on support for Ukraine, preparations for NATO’s upcoming summit in Vilnius, cooperation within the European Union and bilateral cooperation, and cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region and Africa.

Today, on 29 March, when commemorating the anniversary of Lithuania’s accession to the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO), the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Gabrielius Landsbergis stressed that this day was important not only for Lithuania but also for the Alliance. Landsbergis recalled the successful enlargement of NATO’s eastern flank 19 years ago when Lithuania joined the organization with Latvia, Estonia, Bulgaria, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia.

On 28 March, after 11 hours of interinstitutional negotiations, the European Parliament, the Council of the European Union and the European Commission reached a provisional political agreement on a regulation on the protection of the Union and its member states from economic coercion by third countries (Anti-Coercion Instrument).
