Quotas established for the carriers are running out
According to a press release published by the Migration Department on 5 May, 2021, quota, established for the calendar year for foreigners, who come to the Republic of Lithuania to work as drivers of international freight transport vehicles, is nearly exhausted. Therefore, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania urges all employers, who consider inviting employees from the third countries, to contact the Employment Service without due delay for the obtainment of the necessary work permit.
Please be informed that once the established quota is used up, the Visa Centers of the Republic of Lithuania abroad could accept applications for the issuance of national visas only if the foreigner submits a work permit issued by the Employment Service.
